Guardians will begin to receive an email and/or text invitation to join their student's class on Rooms starting August 12 around 3 p.m.
Please do not contact your principals until August 16 if you have not received an invite.
Rooms | Our New Communication Tool
Norman Public Schools is launching our new two-way messaging and communication tool called Rooms for the 2024-2025 school year! Once implemented, all NPS district and school, athletics, emergency notifications and classroom information will be sent you via Rooms.
Rooms will exist within the new district app. You can download the new Norman Public Schools, OK app now in the iOS App Store or the Android Play Store or scan the QR code.
Here are just a few Rooms features:
Two-way messaging with parents, guardians, students, and staff in a monitored, secure space
Teachers can share classroom announcements, activities, and send reminders about coursework to families

I've downloaded the NPS app but cannot get into Rooms.
What if I don't get an invitation to join Rooms?
Please wait until after August 16 to contact your student's school.
Will I get an email or text invitation to join Rooms?
If we have an email and cell phone number in our records, you will receive both.
If you accept the invitation via email, you will create and use a password; your email will be their username.
If you accept the invitation via text, you will be prompted to input your cell phone number, to receive a text verification code to login (only have to login after app updates, logging out or fully closing the app).
What email address will the email come from for the Rooms invite? I want to ensure this is not spam.
The Rooms invitation email will come from an @edurooms.com email address.
One of my children is not listed in Rooms. What do I do?

I get an error when trying to send a message through Rooms. What should I do?
Remove the district app and reinstall it, then try logging back in. If you're using edurooms.com, clear your browser's cache, close the browser, then open it and try again.

How do I navigate in Thrillshare Rooms?
Will I receive more than one invite if my student has more than one teacher or I have more than one student?
Guardians will only receive one invitation via email and/or text to join Rooms. They will receive three follow-up invites on the third, fifth and seventh days after the initial email/text.
What number will the text come from for the Rooms invite? I want to ensure this is not spam.
Guardians will receive a text to join Rooms from 20819.
This is different from an text coming from Alerts, which uses 98900. Alerts is the system NPS will use to send out emergency notifications, weather closures, etc.
Can I use a computer to log into Rooms instead of the NPS app?
